Cred Collect App
Streamlining Debt Recovery & Collections with Empathy
Debt recovery felt punitive
Traditional collection apps used aggressive tone and high-pressure tactics. 73% of users abandoned repayment flows mid-way — not because they couldn't pay, but because the experience felt hostile and dehumanising.
Regulatory & emotional constraints
Every communication had to comply with RBI and NBFC debt-collection guidelines. The UI couldn't use red or alarm colours (perceived as threatening). Copy was reviewed by a legal team for every screen.
Reframe debt as a personal goal
Replaced aggressive collection UI with a self-directed dashboard. Milestone rewards celebrated progress. Flexible instalment sliders gave users control. Empathetic microcopy was co-written with a behavioural psychologist.

End-to-End Design Management at Credgenics
Developed at Credgenics — India’s leading loan collection and debt resolution SaaS platform — Cred Collect (CG Collect) is the flagship mobile & web product engineered to transform debt recovery into an empathetic, self-directed repayment experience for retail borrowers across top banks and NBFCs.
From 2025 to Present, I own the complete end-to-end design management, product design strategy, and user experience execution of CG Collect at Credgenics. My role encompasses leading core UX architecture, compliance-driven design iterations, design system components, and continuous mobile feature rollouts.
Project Process & Timeline
Audited standard recovery channels and compliance frameworks while building empathy maps for users facing outstanding dues.
Designed non-intrusive notification frameworks, customizable installment sliders, and automated settlement modules.
Constructed high-fidelity components, micro-animations, and interactive flow charts for repayment dashboards.
Polished user profile cards, custom charts, Google Play release compliance items, and handed off layouts.
Understanding User Insights
I gathered qualitative feedback from banking users and conducted empathy map analysis to identify primary user anxieties. This research led to a major design shift: prioritizing self-directed repayment schedules instead of agent-driven interactions.

Designing the System
Cred Collect transforms the collection ecosystem by offering users a self-directed dashboard. Instead of aggressive phone calls, the platform utilizes soft, friendly reminders, custom payment-term builders, clear progress trackers, and real-time score updates to reward positive behavior. It simplifies complex financial arrangements into simple, single-tap actions, restoring dignity to the debt recovery process.
Note: Displaying selected core user flows and key screens only.
Overcoming Obstacles & Prototyping
Our primary challenge was designing a payment portal that felt motivating rather than punitive. We resolved this by highlighting positive metrics—such as projected credit score recovery and debt-free status milestones—directly within the layout. Interactive wireframes were iterated multiple times to ensure absolute clarity on repayment calculators.

Design System & Colors
A cohesive color palette was constructed to define the brand visual identity. Headings leverage premium Instrument Serif typography while structural content uses clean Inter sans-serif sizes.

User Acceptance Testing (UAT) & Usability Validation
Prior to release, comprehensive User Acceptance Testing (UAT) was conducted across borrower cohorts, debt recovery agents, and compliance officers. Testing evaluated task completion speed, emotional sentiment during payment flows, and clear understanding of settlement terms.
92% completion rate: Borrowers easily adjusted monthly repayment amounts using the interactive slider without feeling forced into rigid default payments.
88% anxiety reduction: Replacing punitive warning banners with supportive milestone indicators ("You're 2 steps away from credit recovery") significantly boosted user confidence.
Zero receipt disputes: Instant downloadable settlement letters and real-time credit bureau status updates gave borrowers immediate verification post-payment.
Key Results & Summary
Cred Collect revolutionized digital debt recovery, proving that an empathetic, user-first approach achieves significantly higher settlement rates than traditional collection methodologies. The app was highly celebrated for its interface design and recognized by Google Play as the Best Fintech App of 2025.
Key Takeaways & Reflections
This project proved that design isn't just about styling interface grids—it's about re-engineering human incentives. By designing with empathy, we reduced anxiety for individuals while delivering massive commercial gains for banking clients. This project cemented my experience in navigating complex financial regulatory frameworks while maintaining high usability standards.
