The Challenge
Urban consumers in dense Asian markets like Singapore face decision fatigue and slow delivery windows during peak lunch and dinner hours. Existing food delivery apps suffer from cluttered layouts, complex multi-step checkouts, and opaque delivery updates.
Foodbuddy was created to solve these pain points with a clean, lightning-fast B2C mobile ordering experience optimized for instant QSR (Quick Service Restaurant) deliveries, live rider tracking, and localized multi-cuisine curation.
Project Process & Timeline
Analyzed delivery habits in Singapore & SEA cities. Defined key user personas (busy professionals, late-night workers, students).
Designed low-fidelity wireframes focusing on reducing checkout friction to under 30 seconds.
Crafted a vibrant, appetite-inducing design system with smooth cart drawer transitions and interactive dish customization.
Validated prototype with regional users; finalized tokenized design specs in Figma.
User Research & Product Strategy
Through user interviews across Singapore and South Asia, we identified 3 critical UX pillars: speed of discovery, transparent delivery timing, and seamless payment integration (PayNow, GrabPay, Apple Pay).
